Camping, boating, fishing, bird watching, hunting… and the list goes on!  Located at the Barbour-Taylor County line, near Tygart Lake State Park, the Pleasant Creek Public Hunting and Fishing area is a prime destination for your choice of outdoor recreational activities.  Pleasant Creek is open to the public and part of the West Virginia Wildlife Management Areas (WMA).  According to the WMA, the area consists of 3,030 acres of hardwood forest and wetland wildlife habitat.  It ranges from lowlands at Tygart Lake to rugged slopes in excess of 1,600 feet. 

There are 40 campsites for your weekend or week-long vacation experience. In addition, Pleasant Creek offers a 200-yard shooting range with bench seating (be sure to pack targets and mounts).  Fishing prospects include a boat launch as well as angling opportunities for small-mouth and white bass, trout, bluegill, walleye, and more.  For hunters, deer, grouse, turkey, small game and water fowl abound.  If you like to hike or trail-run, there are miles of opportunities waiting for you.  Bird watchers will enjoy a variety of forest to woodland species.
