The familiar keyboard music of popular local musician Rick Kennedy will provide a pleasing background to this year’s Annual Banquet of the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce. The banquet honors House Speaker Roger Hanshaw and employees of Chamber members who have provided faithful service for 25 years or more.
The public is invited to meet the speaker at 6:00 p.m. in the Blue & Gold Dining Room at Alderson Broaddus University on Tuesday, April 23rd. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m..
The West Virginians will sing and annual awards announced. Reservations are required. Further information may be obtained by contacting the Chamber office.
Rick Kennedy is a graduate of Salem University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education and a major in pipe organ. He has been a successful music educator and band instructor at the Belington Middle School where he retired after 40 years of service. Kennedy received the Barbour Chamber’s President’s Award for service to youth in 2016.
Kennedy has also served as the organist of the Church of the Covenant in Grafton, and of Christ Episcopal and St. Mark’s Lutheran Churches in Clarksburg.
