Seaman says that the most important work of New Vision is leading the Barbour County Substance Abuse program called the Bright Future Barbour County Coalition as well as its work force development programs known as Prevention Works and the Workforce Readiness & Professional Success or WRAPS.  Both are located in New Vision’s headquarters in the Chestnut Ridge Community.

During the past six years, Seaman says, New Vision completed a new Epicenter, which is open to the public and promotes good health and the reduction of substance abuse.  “The Epicenter”, he says, “is designed to stimulate the five senses of sight, sound, smell, touch and tase with a youth-monitoring staff.  We believe our programs help families at every age, and are a deterrent to the long-term problems of addiction and dependence.”

New Vision is located at 1242 Chestnut Ridge Road near Philippi, telephone (304) 457-2971.  The center also promotes the sale of locally-made crafts and products which may be ordered through its website www.mountainmade.store    Seaman, a native of Idaho raised in Nebraska, is a graduate of Alderson-Broaddus College and earned a Master’s Degree from Eastern Baptist Seminary in Philadelphia.  He has over forty years of experience in non-profit and development operations.
